Pornography is illegal in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea but pornographic contents are secretly imported into the country from People's Republic of China.

Legal status

According to the law of Democratic People's Republic of Korea carnal contents impair the socialist culture.[1] The act of making, distributing, keeping or importing carnal contents without authorization is punished by penal labour for less than ten years.[2] The secret police agency State Security Department is tasked with enforcing the importation of pornographic materials. The act of consuming carnal contents or performing such acts is punished by penal labour for less than five years.[3]
