Early life

Holwick was born in Venice Beach, California.[1] At 6 years old, she moved to Hawaii and was raised there.[1] Her father, painter Wayne Holwick, died when she was 11 years old.[1][2] At age 13, she worked as a tour guide for Japanese teenagers.[3] Throughout high school, she worked in a record store called Requests.[1][3] She pursued theatre at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and waited tables in Chicago, Illinois right after graduation.[1] She has also worked in her college's mail-room, a costume shop, a porn store, and as a contact juggler.[3]
