Early life
Holwick was born in Venice Beach, California.[1] At 6 years old, she moved to Hawaii and was raised there.[1] Her father, painter Wayne Holwick, died when she was 11 years old.[1][2] Throughout high school, she worked in a record store.[1] She pursued theatre at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and waited tables in Chicago, Illinois right after graduation.[1] She has worked at a porn store as well.[3]

Holwick joined Ford Models and her first two bookings where as the face of MAC Cosmetics and CK Jeans.[1] She also launched the clothing line Beg Borrow Steal at Urban Outfitters.[4]
