Shay is half Philippine and half German[1] and lived on Hawaii during her childhood. Still being a teenager, she moved with her parents to San Diego, California, USA.[2] There she attended the San Diego Culinary Art School, where she studied French and Asian cuisine.[3]
In the year 2006, she did her first porn movie for the company Digital Playground.[2][4] Even though Shay did only heterosexual movies recently, she consider herself being bisexual.[2]
