Instinctive Seductions was a manufacturer of candles and bath, body, and skin care products.

History

Instinctive Seductions was a family operation that launched in the garage of Cindy VanOrder, the company's vice president.[1][2] The company was staffed with professional make-up artists from the film industry.[2] David Wiseman was the company's general sales manager.[1] Instinctive Seductions was distributed by Instinctively Yours.[3] In Australian, C & L Wholesalers had exclusive rights to sell Instinctive Seductions.[4] Instinctive Seductions was also sold in the United Kingdom.[1]

Products

In May 2001, Instinctive Seductions released ten products, including a grape-seed and almond massage oil available in 4 scents, purple sea salt and glycerin Moisturizing Bath Crystals, a Body-Candy lotion bar that melted at body temperature, and the edible sparkling body powder Ambrosia Angel Body Silk.[2]

Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Instinctive Seductions donated $7.50 to the American Red Cross for every $15 Star Spangle Candle they sold.[5] It was a 23 ounce red, white, and blue gel candle hand-made by them that burned for 180 hours and was available in melon, rain, plumeria, and vanilla scents.[6]

In May 2003, Instinctive Seductions released Love Bag kits, which included an 8 ounce bottle of Instinctive Seductions custom massage and body oil, 16 ounces of water coloring bath crystals, 8 ounces of either vanilla-flavored Golden Goddess or fruity-flavored Ambrosia body powder, a feather applicator, a bath scrubby, an exfoliating glove, a handheld wooden massager, and a vitamin E, shea, and cocoa butter body candy massage bar.[1] Versions of this product were the Peaceful Plumeria Love Bag in purple, the Amazon Rain Forest Love Bag in green, the Vitalizing Vanilla Love Bag in gold, the Mystic Melon Love Bag in maroon, and the Valentine's Day Love Bag in red.[1]

Las Vegas Novelties entered a co-branding agreement with Instinctive Seductions to include their massage oils and bath crystals in their Serenity's Sea of Solitude and Jewel's Cuddly Couple kits, which were introduced at the Adult Novelty Manufacturers Expo in July 2003.[7] The former kit included a 10-speed Decathlon Vibe and the latter kit included a Pulsator.[7] Both kits also contained candles, Astroglide lube and Vivid Condoms.[7]

In October 2003, Instinctive Seductions released My Turn, a cream that heightened the sensitivity of the clitoris.[8] It came in a .5 fluid ounce tube with re-closable cap that contained about 24 applications worth of the cream.[8] It was made with all natural ingredients and was ph-balanced, hormone-free, and safe to use with condoms.[8]
