Norway is a Scandinavian country in northern Europe. Norway has had a long-standing ban on the publishing and sale of pornography. Because of this ban there is effectively no domestic porn industry in Norway.
Legal status of pornography
Paragraph §317 of the penal code forbids the publishing, sale or distribution of pornography, importing pornography with intent to distribute, public display of pornography, or letting pornography fall into the hands of a minor.[1] Additionally, the laws governing broadcast gives television authorities the right to deny broadcasting rights to any channel broadcasting pornography.[2] The law exempts material deemed of artistic merit or useful in education. The law does not prohibit the possession or importation of pornography for private consumption.
