Barely Legal (or Hustler's Barely Legal) is a series of porn films focused on teen girls published by Hustler Video. It is inspired by the magazine of the same name - early releases carried the tagline "Starring the girls from America's favorite magazine". In 2011 a Hustler Video representative stated that Barely Legal was their #1 seller.[1] The series was created by Clive McLean in 1999. Clive was already working as a photographer for Barely Legal Magzine. The series has released hundreds of videos to this day. Most Barely Legal video releases are in an vignette format, with a handful of narratively disconnected scenes. Early Barely Legal releases open each scene with some narration from one of the girls in the scene, reading a letter to the Barely Legal magazine where she recounts an early sexual experience.

Directoral Changes

The early Barely Legal series was very strongly associated with Clive McLean. He wrote and directed the majority of the scenes in the series, and his name often appeared on the cover of video releases.

Clive McLean died in 2005[2]. After his passing his widow Erica McLean directed several Barely Legal releases. Erica had been involved since the beginning of the series, being credited for Make-Up and Styling on the first videos. The first release with Erica's name on the cover was Barely Legal 53 in November 2005. She directed the numbered entries until number 57, when Andre Madness took over the series. Andre Madness directed the series from Barely Legal 58 til 67, when Erica resumed directing duties. She directed most numbered Barely Legal releases from 68 until 94. The last Barely Legal release directed by Erica McLean was the spinoff Barely Legal: Girlz Rule released in March 2010.

Matti Klatt directed Barely Legal 95 til 108. Otto Bauer directed Barely Legal 109 til 153.

From 2018s Barely Legal 158: My First Black Cock until Barely Legal 187: My Sister's Boyfriend in 2022 the main director of the Barely Legal series was B. Skow. Since Barely Legal 188: Naughty Sweethearts the main director of the series has Been David Lord.

Releases

In the column "type", 'Main' denotes the numbered series counting up since the 1999 original. Recent main series releases includes a subtitle after the number. 'Spinoff' are themed releases outside the main count, some of these are full narrative films, while others are vignette releases similar to the main series. 'Compilation' are collections of previously released scenes or moments, often under the title Best of Barely Legal.
