Wadim Heid (born July 27 1976 in Kokschetav, Kazakhstan) is an artist, who focuses on erotic and socially critical paintings.

Wadim writes about his life (February 2010): "At the age of sixteen, me and my parents moved from Kazakhstan to Germany. It was a nice time for me, I did sports, worked and felt invincible, as if the world belongs me alone.

I think that this arrogance later brought me to the drugs. You always think: This won't happen to me. That's how the years of my life passed by. While consuming drugs, I somehow managed to go to work and stay sort of fit through sports. But after over ten years of collapse, I found myself without anything. I was divorced, I had no work and I was mentally finished.

When I decided to search for help, I had my first contact with painting at an art therapy in a hospital. Since then I painted nonstop, already for over three years. Painting has changed my life. more
