In the 1980s she was the first pornographic actress to appear in television and advocate for the right to exist of the pornographic film industry.

Nina Hartley is a trained nurse.
Hartley appeared in over 800 movies and is one of the most famous American porn actresses. She also played alongside Mark Wahlberg in "Boogie Nights".
Hartley had her film debut in 1984 in the movie "Educating Nina".
