Into the Mist is a BDSM drama soap opera by Wasteland and Pink TV, which premiered in May 2006.[1][2]
Plot
Victoria Rutherford (Lezley Zen) is the ruthless mistress of Rutherford Manor.[2] She has two young women over as houseguests who wrongly believe they've been hired as nannies.[2] Rutherford makes her servant Willy remove his pants and she spanks his behind as he's wearing a black thong.[2] She does so because he spilled soup on her lap.[2] The spanking happens in front of the guests, who exchange looks of frightened shock when Rutherford tells Willy to show them how it's done so they'll know how to take it when it's their turn.[2] After the spanking is over, Willy remains pants-less as he leads the guests to the bedroom they'll share.[2]

Production
The tagline of Into the Mist claims it is the first hardcore BDSM soap opera in the world.[2] According to Jan Verleur, each episode cost about $50,000 to produce.[2] The set was an approximately 2000 square foot bric-a-brac filled eclectic house.[2] Filming was done from 12 to 14 hours a day, starting with makeup for the actors early in the morning.[4] Lezley Zen refused to wear TJ Maxx costumes like those of her costars, so she rented high-end dominatrix gear with her own money from a friend in the business.[2] The show's writer, Bethany Burke, also worked as an acting coach on set.[1] Pink TV provided a 10-man crew and handled all post-production at its Prague, Czech Republic facilities.[1]
